Radian’s RP Series
of full-range coaxial monitor loudspeakers are designed
specifically for touring/portable sound systems. The
RPX-108P, loaded with an 8” low-frequency coaxial
transducer with 1” exit compression driver, is
a versatile loudspeaker solution for live sound applications.
The RPX108-P can be used
as an extremely low sightline floor monitor at 45 degrees,
a front-of-house system at 90 degrees with its built-in
pole cup, or as fill system by using its three 3/8”-16
fly points. Unlike traditional multi-way loudspeaker systems
that employ separate low frequency speakers with compression
driver/horn combinations, Radian coaxial loudspeaker systems
present all frequencies to the audience from one coherent
source. This single-point source system eliminates the
problem often associated with "time smear" in
which the sound coming from the low-frequency component
arrives at the listener's ear earlier or later than the
sound emanating from the horn/driver combination.
Radian loudspeaker systems’
conical dispersion patterns utilize the low-frequency
cone as an extension of the high-frequency compression
driver to provide clean, transparent reproduction of both
music and speech with lower distortion than most asymmetrical
high-frequency horns.
Construction is of 3/4" 13-ply Baltic birch protected
with Radian’s exclusive scratch-resistant Duradian™
finish. |
